You will need these items:

  • The usual tools, candles, paraphernalia for ritual

Items needed specific to working:

  • pouch
  • herbs for protection: cedar, bay leaf, catnip (even if you have a dog), comfrey, dried garlic and thyme.
  • measure of your pet such as clipping of fur or stray feather

Dogs come into our lives to teach us about love, they depart to teach us about loss. A new dog never replaces an old dog; it merely expands the heart. If you have loved many dogs, your heart is very big.

–Erica Jong

Horned God and AnimalsAll of us have pets in our life that brings us great joy.  Blessing a pet creates a ritual that binds a pet and a family together, celebrating the bond between human and animal.  Blessing a pet is also our way of asking the Gods to protect and keep our pets so that our time with them will be a long and happy journey.

HPS:            Tonight we are make a charm bag for the protection of our pets.  In your pouch add a bit of each of the herbs. Once you are home you can add a bit of your pet’s fur or feather to the pouch to reinforce the blessing.

All:               O Great Horned God, father of the woodland,

and loving lord of all creatures that walk, crawl, swim and fly.

A threefold blessing I humbly ask of thee on the Full Wolf Moon night:

May (pet’s name) life be a long, happy and healthy one.

May (s)he always receive your divine protection.

Watch over him/her with every step (s)he take.

Help me protect him/her and strengthen the connection of love between us.

Let this charm be blessed, to hold the energy of protection.

And when our incarnations in this world cease to be,

may we forever be reunited in the great Wiccan otherworld

known as the Summerland.  Blessed be!

POOF-150x149People sometimes ask (and only partially in jest I suspect) whether since I’m a witch I can really turn someone into a frog. First I groan inwardly, and then wonder to myself,” Really? Why does the Goddess send me these people when She knows I will torment them? Perhaps to provide me some entertainment.”

After such an interlude, if they’re still standing there as though I would deign to answer them. I finally oblige them by saying that such spells are redundant as most people are already toads.

However, my third-degree student in one of those rare moments it’s apparent that your teachings have indeed reached an apt pupil, proffered an alternate, albeit, less acerbic answer. She said, “Master,…” No, she doesn’t really call me Master but I do like the sound of it. My third-degree suggested that anything is possible magickally (or mundanely I might add) if only you can raise enough energy. And, essentially she is correct.

Of course, there are other variables involved, consensual reality, the laws of thermodynamics, relativity. However, if you accept the fact that the universe around us is Maya, then given enough energy/mana then one may overcome such limitations.

How to Charge a Wytche Bottle

   Posted by: Scrivener

Empowering a Witch Bottle

You will need these items:

  • A bottle with a stopper
  • Pins, rusty nails, etc.
  • Rosemary
  • A bit of red wine
  • A candle small enough to fit inside the bottle.
  • Some nail clippings from yourself or some hair.

Magus: (Casts magick circle, then backs against the circle, and concentrates on directing trapped negative energy into the witch bottle.)

Magus: (concentrates their thoughts on directing all negative energies into the bottle. They should visualize a swirling vortex of dark energy being sucked into the bottle.)

Magus: (Pours the wine, drops the needles, and inserts the rosemary into the witch bottle—or the bottle may be premade)

Pins, needles, nutmeg, rosemary, intent, and wine,

I put into this witch bottle of mine,

To trap and guard against harm, bad luck, and enmity,

Now take in the bad luck directed at me.

In a swirling vortex suck in the ill magick and negativity.

What you do not take in return to sender three times three compliments of me.

Magus: Return to sender three times three.

Return to sender three times three.

Return to sender three times three.

Magus: (lights the small candle and recites.)

Magus: Starry moonlight, and Dawn’s sunlight,

    Infuse this lit candle bright.

Consume the dark, bad luck and ill magick blight,

And change what was once darkness so this witch bottle emits only good luck and light.

    Magus: Change darkness to light.

    Change darkness to light.

    Change darkness to light.

Magus: (drops the candle into the bottle and immediately stoppers the bottle with the wax plug. May optionally seal the bottle with wax.)

Magus: With this stopper, bad luck is at an end.

Negativity is trapped within and cleansed.

Light shines through, and good luck is all this bottle sends.

As long as this bottle remains sealed,

All harm, enmity, bad luck, and negativity is healed.

This is my spell; this is my will.

As it is above so it is manifest below.

By stars, moon, and sun, the deed is done,

    So mote it be.

Magus: By stars, moon, and sun, the deed is done; so mote it be.

By stars, moon, and sun, the deed is done; so mote it be.

By stars, moon, and sun, the deed is done; so mote it be.
